ConsultationConsultation with stakeholders is an integral part of the SIA process, and mechanisms will be established to ensure that stakeholders can contribute fully to the SIA study, both as experts and as part of the consultative process. The contractors and the Commission are committed to actively seeking the views of governmental, non-governmental and private sector stakeholders, and to ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive process of consultation with civil society.
All reports will be placed on the project website and comments invited. The Commission will organise public meetings for each report, as part of the stakeholder consultation and participation process, and further meetings will be arranged with targeted stakeholders to ensure their contributions. The contractor will maintain an open dialogue throughout the process, using a dedicated email address (sia-emfta@man.ac.uk).
Phases 1 and 2 of the study are now complete. The seven networks which comprise the Comité de Suivi network of networks of Mediterranean environmental NGOs have undertaken a thorough critique of the SIA-EMFTA Phase One report.
Phase Three is now underway and we would welcome your assistance and advice on carrying out this study. Specifically, we would appreciate your response to the following questions. This list is not intended to be exhaustive - views and proposals relating to other aspects of the study are also welcomed.
